The tour begins and ends in the vibrant metropolis of Cape Town at the foot of Table Mountain. The route will take you through rugged mountain landscapes, across the white sand dunes of Atlantis, along picturesque coastal roads in the famous wine-growing regions and on to the Cape of Good Hope. You will experience the big five up close in a Private Game Reserve. On the South African Multiday Tour you will not only get to know the beauty and hospitality of the country, you also get to know the sheer pleasure that can be experienced when driving a new BMW X3. Tour vehicle: the BMW X3.

The BMW X3 really comes into its own on tough terrain. This makes it the ideal companion for your South Africa tour. From the very first glance, it impresses with its athletic appearance and fascinates with an exciting driving experience. Fitted with the xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive system, it allows you to master difficult surfaces with no problem. You can also rely on its extraordinary directional stability and safe cornering at all times.

Enjoy eight days of the fascinating diversity and beauty of the Western Cape of South Africa. Drive on with the BMW X3 where the tarmac ends. Leave everyday life behind you as you drive along picturesque coastal roads, across the white sand dunes and through rugged mountain landscapes.

THE ROUTE.

THIS AWAITS YOU.

Day 1: Metropolis Cape Town.

“Welcome to South Africa” is what you will hear at Cape Town International Airport when our BMW team meets you. The team will bring you to your accommodation: the stylish luxury hotel “The Twelve Apostles”. Lunch will be served for guests arriving early, the check-in will start from 2 p.m. Starting at 3 p.m., there will be a sparkling wine reception and presentation of the programme, route description as well as general information. Afterwards, you can dive into the African metropolis. A city tour will take you through Cape Town, with a cable-car trip to Table Mountain (weather permitting). Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay in the 5-star hotel “The Twelve Apostles”.

Day 2: The dunes of Atlantis (approx. 290 km).

After breakfast and check-out, you will be tranfered to the vehicle handover where you will receive an Introduction on driving in off-road terrain and the technical features of the BMW X3. You can look forward to driving and exploring the white dunes of Atlantis. You will enjoy a view over Cape Town and Table Mountain during your picnic lunch. You will then continue to the breath-taking sandstone formations of the Cederberg Mountains. You will have a hard-earned dinner and an overnight stay at the 5-star lodge “Bushmans Kloof”.

Day 3: The Cederberg Mountains.

The day starts with a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge. In today’s optional programme you can go trekking or mountain-biking, relax in the pool or the spa, and much more (fee may be payable). After Lunch, a guided game drive with sundowner in the private game reserve is scheduled. This will give you the opportunity to take a look at the historic rock art of the Khoisan. Dinner and overnight stay will take place at “Bushmans Kloof” again.

Day 4: Views from mountain passes and famous wine-growing areas (approx. 300 km).

We leave “Bushmans Kloof” lodge today. After breakfast and check-out, you will head out on a stage southward over impressive passes, through wild and romantic valleys and over high mountains. After Lunch, you will take the Bain’s Kloof Pass from Ceres to the wine-growing regions of Paarl and Stellenbosch, where you will greet the advent of evening with a wine-tasting and enjoy the view over the vineyards. You will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at either the 'Grande Roche' or 'Asara' 5-star hotels.

Day 5: On the trail of the Big Five (approx. 250 km).

After breakfast and check-out you will drive over the Helshoogte and Franschhoek passes to Worcester and Montagu in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Lunch will be waiting for you after check-in. Then you will have a guided game drive into the 75,000-hectar national park. Marvel at the diversity of African wildlife: including the Big Five and a special highlight, white lions. You will round off the day with a gourmet dinner in the 5-star lodge “Gondwana”.

Day 6: Drive to Kap Agulhas (approx. 320 km).

After a sumptuous breakfast, you will cross the Tradouw Pass via Barrydale to Swellendam, where you can view the historic courthouse. After Lunch the journey continues to Kap Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet. But the day is not yet over. You are yet to arrive in the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus. You will stroll through the town centre and take a hike along the steep cliffs. You will then enjoy a traditional seafood dinner in the 5-star hotel “The Marine”, where you will also spend the night.

Day 7: The road to the Cape of Good Hope (approx. 240 km).

Today, you will be returning to your starting hotel. After breakfast and check-out today's journey features many highlights. In Betty’s Bay you will visit penguins, while in False Bay you will enjoy a unique, panoramic view from the Cape of Good Hope to Table Mountain and then take lunch in the “Two Oceans” restaurant at the Cape of Good Hope. The famous Chapman’s Peak Drive guarantees driving pleasure in the afternoon, as well as an unforgettable view. You will return to Cape Town and the 5-star hotel “The Twelve Apostles” later in the afternoon. Then it is time for the transfer to the Waterfront and the big farewell dinner and your final overnight stay in South Africa.

Day 8: South Africa says “Goodbye”.

Enjoy one last sumptuous breakfast in the hotel before you head to the Cape Town International Airport. You will board your own flight there.
