Training vehicle: the BMW i8.

Take the sports car of the future to track. Experience the sporty character of the BMW i8 with plug-in hybrid drive technology. With its precise interaction of the combustion engine and the electric motor, the BMW i8 is ready to revolutionise its vehicle class. As the first sports car with the consumption and emission values of a compact car. The strength of the plug-in hybrid lies, among other factors, in the perfect synchronisation of electric motor and combustion engine, which makes itself apparent in maximum efficiency and dynamics on the road.

M – the letter that has always been synonymous with genuine sports cars. The BMW M8 Competition is part of the large fleet of vehicles available to the BMW Driving Experience for their training courses. These vehicles are used on most of the training courses at the BMW M Experience and the drift training courses in Maisach and Pitztal.

Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.6
CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 242

Training venue: the BMW and MINI Driving Academy.

A former airport near Maisach, about 30 kilometres west of Munich, has been home to the Driving Academy since September 2012. The location, where military and subsequently civil aircraft took off in the past, is now home to one of the largest road-safety training sites in Southern Germany – the ultimate in driver training for passionate petrol heads over a total area of 130 hectares. This is where both experienced drivers and novices learn how it feels to have total control of a car in extreme and dangerous situations.

DAT NOTE

The official fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, electric power consumption and electric range figures are determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable. The range shown considers the different sizes of the selected wheels/tyres. With respect to this vehicle, for vehicle-related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2 emissions, the CO2 values may differ from the values stated here (depending on national legislation). Images show items of optional equipment. The values are based on the new WLTP test cycle and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure comparability between the vehicles. For further information on the WLTP and NEDC test cycles go to www.bmw.de/wltp

Further information on official fuel consumption figures and specific CO2 emission values of new passenger cars is included in the following guideline: ‘Leitfaden über den Kraftstoffverbrauch, die CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer Personenkraftwagen’ (Guide to the fuel economy, CO2 emissions and electric power consumption of new passenger cars), which can be obtained free of charge from all dealerships, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/
